Tata Institute of Social Science (TISS) invites online applications
for the following Non-Academic positions in the institute.TISS is a centrally funded public university, and the University Grants Commission provides
the Institute’s Plan and Maintenance Grants. It operates from four campuses located in Mumbai
and Tuljapur (Maharashtra), Guwahati (Assam) and Hyderabad (Telangana). All the campuses
have major ongoing research projects, collaborations with the Central and State Governments,
industry and civil society organizations, and international agencies. The Institute has over 4,500
students on roll; with nearly one-fifth being Doctoral Scholars.
1. Registrar
No. of Post: 1 (UR – Mumbai Campus)
Pay Scale:7th CPC Pay Matrix Level -14
Age Limit for Direct Recruits: Not more than 57 years
Education and other qualifications required for direct recruits Eligibility:
(1) Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks or its equivalent
grade of 'B' in the UGC 7 point scale.
(2) At least 15 years
of experience as Assistant Professor in the Academic Level 11 and above or with
8 years of service in the Academic Level 12 and above including as Associate
Professor along with experience in educational administration.
or
Comparable experience in research establishment and/ or
other institutions of higher education.
or
At least 15 years of administrative experience of which at
least 8 years was as a Deputy Registrar or in an equivalent post. (Level 12 /13 of pay matrix as per 7th CPC)
Desirable: Preference will be given to candidates with
experience in Universities and centrally funded educational/ research
institutes and having knowledge of financial management, human resource management,
materials management, resource mobilisation, and other related matters connected
with general administration.
2. Deputy Registrar
No. of Post: 3 (1-UR – Mumbai Campus/1-OBC/1-UR-Hyderabad
Campus)
Payscale: 7th CPC Pay Matrix Level -12
Age Limit for Direct Recruits: 50 years with relaxation as
per Rules for SC, ST, OBC, and PWD
Education and other qualifications required for direct
recruits Eligibility:
a) Master's Degree
with at least 55% of the marks, or an equivalent grade in a point scale
wherever grading system is followed.
b) Nine years of experience as Assistant Professor in the
Academic Level 10 and above with experience in educational administration,
or
c) Comparable experience in research establishment and/ or
other institutions of higher education,
or
d) 5 years of
administrative experience as Assistant Registrar or in an equivalent post.
Desirable: Experience
in Personnel/ Purchase/ Finance/ Administration/ Academic in a Educational /
Research Institute/ Government/ Autonomous body
3. Assistant Registrar
No. of Post: 2 (1-UR/1-ST Guwahati Campus)
Payscale: 7th CPC Pay Matrix Level -10
Age Limit for Direct Recruits: 50 years with relaxation as
per Rules for SC/ST and others
Education and other qualifications required for direct recruits Eligibility:
Master’s degree with 55 %, five years experience in
educational administration or comparable experience in research establishment
and other institution of higher education or 5 years of
administrative
experience in the pay scale of Rs.6500-200-10500
Desirable: Experience
in Personnel/ Purchase/ Finance/ Administration/ Academic in Government/
Educational Institute will be preferred.
